Each month, FamilySearch publishes a list of new changes and updates to the FamilySearch.org website. This list includes changes to Family Tree as well as other parts of FamilySearch.org. In some cases, these changes will also be published as individual articles where the need to do so exists.
1. You can now link unindexed images to a person in the Family Tree. Previously you had to go through the attach process for each person in the image. The new flow will greatly reduce the number of steps you must take to properly attach an image to all family members in your tree.In the first step you give the photo a title and add notes about the image. The notes are not indexed, nor is the data in fields searchable, but the notes can be viewed on the source attachment in the Family Tee.
FamilySearch: New Logged-In Home Page
FamilySearch will soon be rolling out a new dashboard for you when you are logged in to FamilySearch. The content on dashboard will be customized to you based on your preferences and activity in the Tree. You will be able to view photos and read stories about your ancestors that have been recently added from other patrons. You can comment on these photos and stories and share them on social media.
FamilySearch will also provide recommended tasks that you can view and then work on to further your family history work. In addition, there is a list of recently viewed ancestors so you can pick up where you left off and a to-do list so you can plan your future work. This new dashboard will help inspire you to learn more about your ancestors and give you tools that will help you complete your family history work.
